Senior Sustainability Lead

Shannon, Co. Clare | Permanent | Office Based

We are working with an established organisation in Shannon to recruit a Senior Sustainability Lead to drive the next stage of its sustainability and ESG strategy.

This is a senior role with responsibility for carbon transition planning, SBTi, CSRD readiness, EcoVadis and responsible sourcing. You will work cross-functionally with senior stakeholders, Finance, Operations and suppliers to deliver measurable sustainability improvements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead annual Scope 1, 2 and 3 greenhouse gas emissions calculations and analysis.

  • Develop and manage the company’s Climate Transition Plan and SBTi targets.

  • Improve Scope 3 data quality through supplier-specific lifecycle assessments.

  • Lead CSRD readiness and develop audit-ready sustainability data and reporting processes.

  • Manage the annual EcoVadis assessment and drive continuous improvement.

  • Act as a subject matter expert on EU sustainability policy, ESG reporting and climate risk.

  • Prepare ESG dashboards and carbon KPI reporting for senior leadership and the Board.

  • Lead responsible sourcing and supplier audit programmes.

  • Work with suppliers and internal teams to identify and reduce Scope 3 emissions.

  • Drive sustainability awareness, engagement and behavioural change across the organisation.

Requirements

  • Degree, ideally at Master’s level, in Sustainability, Environmental Science, Engineering, Business or a related discipline.

  • 7+ years’ experience in corporate sustainability or ESG, including 3–5 years in a senior or lead position.

  • Proven experience developing and implementing carbon transition plans.

  • Experience with SBTi target setting and validation.

  • Strong practical experience with CSRD and ESRS reporting requirements.

  • Experience managing and improving EcoVadis assessments.

  • Strong project management and cross-functional leadership skills.

  • Excellent data analysis, communication and stakeholder management abilities.

  • Experience with supplier or onsite audits would be an advantage.
