Manufacturing Engineering Manager

We are working with an established high-volume manufacturing organisation to recruit a Manufacturing Engineering Manager to lead its Manufacturing Engineering function.
This is a senior leadership role with responsibility across new product introduction, automation, facilities and production engineering, offering the opportunity to influence manufacturing strategy while remaining close to day-to-day technical delivery.
Key Responsibilities

Lead Manufacturing Engineering involvement from early product development through NPI, pilot builds and production ramp.

Drive Design for Manufacture (DFM) and Design for Test (DFT) within new product development.

Develop scalable manufacturing processes and lead PFMEA, process validation and control plan activities.

Manage NPI projects, ensuring delivery against cost, timing, quality and yield targets.

Develop and implement a long-term manufacturing and test automation strategy.

Identify opportunities to improve automation, material handling, productivity and process repeatability.

Provide engineering leadership for facilities, infrastructure, capacity expansion and plant development.

Lead technical resolution of complex production issues and support continuous improvement.

Manage engineering projects, equipment procurement and capital expenditure.

Build, lead and develop a high-performing Manufacturing Engineering team.

Work closely with R&D, Quality, Supply Chain, Maintenance and Operations.
Requirements
-
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electronic, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering or a related discipline.

7–10 years’ experience within high-volume manufacturing, ideally electronics.

3–5+ years’ engineering leadership experience.

Proven experience across NPI industrialisation, automation and manufacturing line development.

Experience with facilities, infrastructure or capacity expansion projects.

Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and structured problem-solving.

Experience managing capital projects and equipment procurement.

Strong commercial awareness, including CapEx justification and ROI analysis.

Excellent stakeholder management and cross-functional leadership skills.

Data-driven approach with strong organisational and prioritisation skills.

Comfortable operating at both strategic and hands-on levels.
