Product Quality Engineer

Shannon, Co. Clare | Permanent | Onsite

We are working with an established technology and manufacturing organisation to recruit a Product Quality Engineer to join its Quality team.

This is a technically focused role working closely with R&D, Production and Test Engineering to ensure product quality, reliability and compliance from initial design through to product launch and ongoing support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with R&D to assess product designs for quality, reliability and regulatory compliance.

  • Review schematics, PCB layouts and hardware specifications to identify design-related risks.

  • Lead design risk assessments, including DFMEA, and support root cause investigations.

  • Support product verification, validation and NPI activities.

  • Support new supplier and component approval processes.

  • Analyse and report on parametric and product test data.

  • Support hardware and software testing from a quality perspective.

  • Provide technical support to Production, Test and Quality teams in resolving product issues.

  • Ensure product traceability and compliance with relevant standards and internal requirements.

  • Drive continuous improvement across product quality and design processes.

  • Represent Quality during design reviews and product development meetings.

  • Support audits and regulatory inspections relating to design controls.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electronic, Electrical, Software Engineering or a related discipline.

  • 5+ years’ experience in Quality or R&D within a regulated industry such as medical devices, aerospace, automotive or life safety.

  • Strong understanding of product development, lifecycle and design controls.

  • Experience with hardware/software integration and testing.

  • Ability to read and interpret electronic schematics and circuit designs.

  • Experience with FMEA, risk management and root cause analysis.

  • Knowledge of embedded systems, firmware or software development.

  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 or similar quality standards.

  • Strong analytical, communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications and test data.
