Staff CPU Architect – Out-of-Order Superscalar CPU Cores

A leading semiconductor company developing next-generation RISC-V–based SoCs is seeking a Staff CPU Architect to lead the architectural and micro-architectural specification of high-performance, power-efficient out-of-order (OOO) superscalar CPU cores. This is a technical leadership role, focusing on system performance, multi-core coherency and workload optimization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define detailed CPU core specifications for design teams and stakeholders.

  • Collaborate with architecture, design and software teams to optimize CPU and SoC performance.

  • Model workloads using simulators to evaluate power, performance, and design trade-offs.

  • Support implementation and verification, including power analysis and process-related decisions.

  • Research and propose next-generation features to enable future CPU products.

Requirements:

  • 10+ years leading CPU architectural efforts with a track record of successful OOO superscalar CPU delivery.

  • Expert knowledge of CPU micro-architecture, memory hierarchy and multi-core coherency.

  • Strong understanding of SoC design, including integration with accelerators and memory subsystems.

  • Extensive experience with functional and performance simulators for architecture validation.

  • Familiarity with RISC-V architecture, AI/ML software frameworks and closely coupled accelerators is a plus.

  • Team player with strong communication skills.

  • Collaborative mindset, able to challenge constructively and focus on team outcomes.

Why Join:
Work with a pioneering semiconductor company, enjoy a hybrid and flexible work environment, and contribute to cutting-edge CPU designs that power next-generation AI, HPC and edge platforms.
