Senior Electronics Design Engineer

Limerick, Co. Limerick / Hybrid or Remote

We are working with an innovative technology company developing connected products for the energy and industrial sectors to recruit an experienced Electronics Design Engineer.

This is a hands-on electronic design role offering a high degree of autonomy and creative freedom. You will have the opportunity to take ownership of projects, develop new solutions and contribute across the full product development lifecycle, from circuit and PCB design through to testing, debugging and certification.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design microcontroller-based electronic circuits, schematics and PCB layouts.

  • Develop next-generation electronic products for energy management and industrial applications.

  • Modify and optimise existing designs for cost, reliability and manufacturability.

  • Develop embedded firmware using C.

  • Prototype, test and debug electronic hardware and firmware.

  • Use JTAG, SWD and other diagnostic tools for system debugging.

  • Explore creative solutions to complex hardware and product challenges.

  • Participate in design reviews and collaborate with hardware and software engineers.

  • Produce technical specifications and product documentation.

  • Support new products through certification and safety testing.

  • Design robust, high-reliability electronics for demanding industrial environments.

Requirements

  • Degree in Electronic Engineering or a related discipline.

  • 5+ years’ professional experience in electronic product design and development.

  • Strong experience in electronic circuit and PCB design.

  • Experience designing microcontroller-based systems.

  • Embedded firmware development experience using C.

  • Hands-on experience with hardware debugging and test equipment.

  • Experience taking electronic products from design through testing and into production.

  • Strong problem-solving skills with a creative and innovative approach to engineering challenges.

  • Comfortable working with a high degree of autonomy and ownership.

  • Ability to manage independent projects while contributing effectively within a collaborative engineering team.

  • Ambitious, curious and motivated to learn and develop new ideas.
