CPU Senior Architecture Engineer
Job Description
CPU Senior Architecture Engineer
A leading semiconductor company developing next-generation RISC-V–based SoCs is seeking a CPU Senior Architecture Engineer to contribute to the architectural & micro-architectural specification for a range of cutting-edge OOO superscalar CPU cores used in next-generation System-on-Chip (SoC) designs. This role will value experience working on OOO superscalar CPUs, coherency in multi-core systems and workload performance analysis. Successful candidates will be expected to collaborate with other architecture teams, design teams and other partners.
Key Responsibilities:
-
Develop detailed CPU core specifications for design teams and stakeholders, and conduct technical reviews as required.
-
Collaborate closely with other architects to optimize CPU system performance, including integration with accelerator engines, SoC components, and software teams.
-
Utilize simulators and analytical tools to model key workloads, evaluating power, performance, and trade-offs in design features.
-
Work hand-in-hand with design teams during implementation and verification, including supporting power analysis and process-related decision-making.
Requirements:
- 7+ years of experience in out-of-order (OOO) superscalar CPU designs, with proven ability to evaluate micro-architecture trade-offs in performance, power and area.
- Deep understanding of CPU micro-architectures, memory hierarchy and multi-core coherency.
- Strong knowledge of SoC design principles and integration of CPUs, accelerators and memory subsystems.
- Experience using advanced functional and performance simulators for architecture exploration, validation, and performance modelling of complex software workloads.
- Collaborative team player with excellent communication skills, able to contribute to team outcomes while constructively challenging ideas and maintaining a positive, engaging work environment.
